👉 Mount Sinai (Mount Moses) is one of Egypt’s sacred sites, where Moses is believed to have received the Ten Commandments. At the summit are the ruins of a 4th-century chapel and a mosque built over the prophet’s cave, while the ancient St. Catherine’s Monastery stands at the foot of the mountain.
👉 St. Catherine’s Monastery on Mount Sinai is one of the world’s oldest continuously operating monasteries and is listed by UNESCO. It was founded in the 4th century at the site of the Burning Bush, where according to tradition God appeared to Moses.
Program:
📍Transfer from the hotel at approximately 21:00 (the exact time is provided after booking; the drive to the first stop in Dahab takes around 1.5 hours depending on your hotel location); 📍Night stop at a shop for about 15 minutes (restroom, coffee, snack, and information from the guide); 📍Travel in a police-escorted convoy to the foot of the mountain (approximately 1.5 hours); 📍Stop at an icon gallery for about 20–30 minutes (restroom, snack, and gallery presentation); 📍Night ascent to the summit with a Bedouin guide along a prepared trail — about 3 hours and 7 km (Important! The summit is 2,285 m above sea level and the climb requires stamina. The final section includes 750 stone steps. Flashlights are provided. You can ride a camel up to the steps for an additional fee); 📍Watch the sunrise at the summit for about one hour (wool blankets can be rented at the top); 📍Descent to St. Catherine’s Monastery (about 2 hours); 📍Tour of the monastery (access to some interior areas is restricted; visitors may only be allowed onto the grounds); 📍Departure back to Sharm El Sheikh; 📍Transfer back to the hotel; departure is around 09:30 and arrival is approximately 13:30, including a stop on the return journey.
