The cruise begins along the Golden Horn, whose shores preserve monuments from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. You will learn about the old Greek neighborhoods and the history of Constantinople, founded here as Byzantium and later transformed into the capital of the Roman Empire.
The Bosphorus is the symbolic heart of Istanbul, separating Europe and Asia. During the cruise you will see historic waterfront mansions, towers, fortresses and bridges. You will pass the legendary Rumeli Fortress, which played a key role during the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, and the Maiden’s Tower, which has served as a lighthouse, prison and quarantine station over the centuries.
The tour finishes at one of the best viewpoints on the Asian side near Beylerbeyi Palace Park, with panoramic views over the city and the Bosphorus.
