What to Bring

Comfortable shoes for canyon and ancient-site walking, water shoes or secure sandals, swimwear, towel, spare clothes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, phone or camera, cash for tickets and optional activities, and a light jacket in spring or autumn.

Important: the water in Saklikent remains very cold even in summer, so water shoes and dry spare clothes make the visit much more comfortable.

Saklikent is in a mountainous area and is noticeably cooler than the coast. April–May is usually +22…+30°C; June–September coast temperatures can reach +32…+40°C while the canyon stays cooler and the river remains around +10…+15°C; October is usually +24…+30°C. Winter visits are less frequent and depend on weather and water conditions.
